| Light Unto My Path Soy Candles |
| About The Company Light Unto My Path Soy Candles is Christian home-based business located in Bowie, MD. I started my candle making business in the early part of 2007. I was introduced to soy candles some years ago and immediately like them, but finding soy candles in stores proved to be a challenge. While searching the Internet hoping to find a good site selling soy candles, I found a candle supply website which included a demonstration video on how to make soy candles. I was shocked soy candles were easy to make. I am not a creative/crafty person, but I this I could do! The wheels started to turn and here I am making and selling my own candles and loving it! About Soy Soy candles are growing in popularity as more and more people are becoming more environmentally and health conscious. There are some significant differences between soy and paraffin candles. -First, paraffin candles are a crude oil or petroleum based product. Yes, paraffin candles are made from the same oil as gasoline! Soy candles are made from soybeans. Soybeans are a renewable resource! -Second, soy wax is a much softer wax than paraffin which means it melts at a cooler temperature. A cooler burning temperature means the melted wax is not hot enough to cause a major burn on skin. This also makes them better to have if children or pets are present. The cooler burning temperature also means soy candles last longer. -Third, soy wax in its melted form is nothing more than vegetable oil so spills are a breeze to clean up just use hot water & soap. This also means cleaning out a jar or container after the candle has completely burned away is a snap and the jar or container can be used for other purposes. -Fourth, anything that burns will smoke, but consider burning vegetable oil vs. burning petroleum which smoke do you think contains more pollutes. Need I say more! These are just a few reasons why is Soy is BEST! |
